I find watercolor to be challenging and rewarding….The difference between watercolor and other techniques is that the watercolor adds its own personality to the finished artwork–because you cannot completely control the outcome….You just have to go with the flow!

Oooooh Pretty Flowers! The painting below is a watercolor travel sketch I did while on vacation in Mazatlan, Mexico. I usually take a 9 x 12 sketchbook along, and paint or draw whatever strikes me. In this case, it was a beautiful tropical vine with flowers which grows well in that region. Something I saw on one of our regular morning walks near the resort. No architecture in sight in this painting–See–I Can Do It!
