As an architectural illustrator, I offer a wide range of rendering styles and products. Below are four general categories of renderings that I offer, each with a short description and an example of each rendering type included for discussion purposes. Please use this page as a resource to determine which level of illustration is right for your project—then we can discuss the options further by phone or email.
Quick Felt Pen Sketches:
Every project starts with these. With some conceptual design projects, the quick and loose felt pen sketches are the desired finished product. In any case, these sketchy illustrations are a real strength of Jeffrey’s repertoire. Done before much time and effort is expended, these quick sketches communicate the subject and scope of the future illustration. Usually sent via email, these give the client a chance to see early on what the rendering will include—and from what perspective viewpoint—giving the client the opportunity to approve or comment. Fees upon request.
Quick Color Sketches:
Color can be added to the felt pen sketches described above, yielding a loose, but effective rendition of your design project. When an architectural project is in its conceptual phase, these color sketches are most valuable. Done small (8-1/2 x 11, or 11 x 17) these can be great presentation tools at a very affordable price. The images can be effectively enlarged and printed for greater impact. Fees upon request.
Color Pencil Renderings:
These are more detailed and more sophisticated illustrations. With attention to architectural detail, landscaping, and materials and finishes, these renderings are very impressive presentation tools. Done at 11 x 17 or larger, these renderings are approved as quick sketches, then approved as finished line drawings (no color yet), then received as finished color artwork as the final product. A high-resolution digital scan is usually all the client requests, but original artwork can be delivered to the client if desired. Fees upon request.
Watercolor Renderings:
These are more detailed and more sophisticated illustrations. With attention to architectural detail, landscaping, and materials and finishes, these renderings are very impressive presentation tools. Done at 11 x 17 or larger, these renderings are approved as quick sketches, then approved as finished line drawings (no color yet), then received as finished color artwork as the final product. A high-resolution digital scan is usually all the client requests, but original artwork can be delivered to the client if desired. Fees upon request.
