{"id":7025,"date":"2020-11-04T21:23:02","date_gmt":"2020-11-04T21:23:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/finearchitecturalillustration.com\/?p=7025"},"modified":"2020-11-04T21:23:02","modified_gmt":"2020-11-04T21:23:02","slug":"watercolor-rendering-of-daly-city-project-designed-by-san-francisco-architect","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/finearchitecturalillustration.com\/index.php\/2020\/11\/04\/watercolor-rendering-of-daly-city-project-designed-by-san-francisco-architect\/","title":{"rendered":"Watercolor Rendering of Daly City Project designed by San Francisco Architect"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here is a project for which I have done quite a bit of drawing over the past few years.\u00a0 It&#8217;s a large facility and event center for Duggan&#8217;s Serra Mortuary located in Daly City, California.\u00a0 They are considering a major renovation and enlargement of their existing facility, and they have commissioned Van Meter Williams Pollack of San Francisco as their architect.\u00a0 VMWP is a long-time client of mine for my illustration business, and as the design has developed over the recent years, I have been asked to portray the most current design in perspective to the client and the surrounding neighborhood.\u00a0 As an illustrator, when the architectural design changes, but all things around it remain the same, it makes sense to keep the background and context of the rendering, and simply draw a new building, and use PhotoShop to paste it into the previous image.\u00a0 <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-7027 lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/b1204804.smushcdn.com\/1204804\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/20200117-dsm-street-view-1-300x177.jpg?lossy=2&strip=1&webp=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"177\" data-srcset=\"https:\/\/b1204804.smushcdn.com\/1204804\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/20200117-dsm-street-view-1-300x177.jpg?lossy=2&amp;strip=1&amp;webp=1 300w, https:\/\/b1204804.smushcdn.com\/1204804\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/20200117-dsm-street-view-1.jpg?size=216x127&amp;lossy=2&amp;strip=1&amp;webp=1 216w\" data-sizes=\"auto\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 300px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 300\/152;\" data-original-sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/> Once approved, I paste that black and white version of the building over and into the existing color rendering.\u00a0 I apply color to the black and white building&#8211;in this case in watercolor.\u00a0 Then I scan the color rendering of the building and &#8220;cut and paste&#8221;
